Moe Clark & Weather Beings

About

âpihtawikosisâniskwêw (Métis / Norwegian / French / British) multidisciplinary artist Moe Clark is a 2Spirit singing thunderbird. She fuses together vocal improvisation with multilingual lyricism to create meaning that is rooted in personal legacy, ancestral memory and embodied knowledge. Originally from Treaty 7, she’s called Tio'tiá:ke / Mooniyang (Montreal) home for over a decade.

Apart from performance, Moe’s work as a creative facilitator aims to remember and reconnect belonging to territories of land, body and voice through creative continuums of Indigenous language immersion, song creation and ceremonial practice. Her work has appeared the world over at festivals, in collaborative musical creations, spoken word performances, and hybrid video/digital presentations.

Weather Beings is a collaborative performance co-founded by Victoria Hunt and Moe Clark as a site to assert a critical position to reclaim, restore and rematriate feminine and queer knowledge into their cultural and creative practices. Weather Beings activate creative practices that refuse violent linearities by dreaming backwards into the future.
