About
Described as a master storyteller, Portia (she/her), combines charm, intelligence, and razor-sharp wit to seamlessly weave the personal and political.
She is a frequent face on the lineup for the Montreal and Toronto standup and variety show, They Go Low, We Go Laugh (TGLWGL), which highlights folks of colour and other marginalized identities. Portia performed at Zoofest/Off-JFL in 2022, and appeared again in two shows in 2023, The Discovery Series (YouTube link) and BLCK!. She also performed in a sketch and stand-up show Gu Paul's African Race with TGLWL at the 2023 Toronto Fringe Festival.
In 2024, she perfomed at the Toronto Theatre Center's Comedy is Art festival, and appear as one of the storyteller's on Lupita N'yongo's Mind Your Own podcast, a storytelling podcast navigating what it means to belong, all from the African perspective.
