Virginie B’s (she/her) captivating eccentricity is matched only by her boundless creativity. The singer-songwriter, director, and multi-instrumentalist offers a unique reappropriation of hyperpop codes, complemented by a refined conceptual approach rooted in pop art and infused with a flair for maximalism and glamour.
Her debut album, INSULA, released independently in 2022, quickly drew critical acclaim. This recognition culminated in a 2022 GAMIQ nomination for Pop Album of the Year. In September 2024, Virginie B unveils her full extravagance with Astral 2000, her sophomore album and first release under Bonsound. Created in collaboration with producer and multi-instrumentalist Louis Jeay-Beaulieu, it stands as one of the first Quebec albums to fully embrace a hyperpop sound—its originality holding its own among the genre’s biggest names. With this second offering, she emerges as a carefree queen, a digital nymph, an ageless being.
