Denis Cormier-Piché
About
Denis Cormier-Piché has been living with HIV for more than 24 years and is under the care of the Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM). In 2016, he became the first North American living with HIV to receive a kidney transplant from an HIV+ donor, and to date remains the only Canadian for whom such operation has been reported. Since 2017, he has been actively involved as a patient partner on several committees: CHUM's Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), the scientific committee of the Digital Health Network (RSN), Quebec's Dossier de santé numérique (DSN) and the Table de santé numérique of the Centre d'excellence sur le partenariat avec les patients et le public (CEPPP). He is also participating in a think tank for the renewal of the Programme national de santé publique (PNSP) 2025-2035. At the Archives gaies du Québec (AGQ), he launched the “Capsules temporelles VIH/sida” project in 2022. He is a Governor of Fondation Émergence and a member of the working group Pour que vieillir soit gai.
