Recipient of The Governor General's Award 2025 - the King Charles III Coronation Medal for 43 years of volunteering his activist services advocating for the rights of people living with HIV across the political landscape of Canada.
Gregg has been “A voice and a face amongst many" since his HIV diagnosis in 1987 and becoming the Poster Boy of Quebec in 1989. He has acquired many years of experience in grass-roots community organization governance, has met a mosaic amount of peoples with lived experiences, and has participated in the building of earlier organizations in Montreal supporting the rights for Anglophone/Allophone members of these organizations: CPAVIH, C-SAM, MARC-ARMS/ACCM, ACT-UP.
At age 65, he is not ready to retire yet, still volunteering at ACCM sharing past lived experiences to connect with the intergenerational to move forward as HIV continues to evolve amongst the many communities today.
