Misstress Barbara

Misstress Barbara, a pioneering DJ/Producer since the 90s, was one of the first female superstar DJs, known for her explosive Techno sets. Born in Italy and raised in Canada, she headlined major festivals globally and consistently ranked in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs during the 2000s. Besides music, she's a drummer, glider pilot, boat captain, and sailing instructor, with a Communications/Cinema degree. She also launched her own bean-to-bar chocolate brand, Barbon Chocolate. Despite diverse pursuits, music remains her focus, earning accolades like Best Montreal International Music Initiative (2001) and a JUNO Awards’ Best Dance Album of the Year nomination (2010). Her extensive discography spans top Techno labels, including her own. While she once used the alias Barbara Brown for softer productions, she now releases all music under her main name, dedicated to her first love: Techno.
