Philippe-Aubert Côté
About
Philippe-Aubert Côté (he/him), a Chicoutimi native based in Montreal, has made a name for himself in science fiction, with both short (Pour l’honneur d’un Nohaum, Prix Aurora-Boréal 2011 for best short story) and long fiction (the Jeu du Démiurge diptych, Prix Aurora-Boréal 2016 for best novel). After dabbling in urban fantasy (Le Sculpteur de vœux, 2020), he turned to horror, a polymorphous genre rooted in other fantasy families, whose challenges appeal to him. Since 2023, he has been a reviewer for Lettres québécoises and a regular columnist on the radio program L’Heure où l’arc-en-ciel se lève, where he focuses on the geeky side of the LGBTQ+ community. In 2024, Philippe-Aubert co-created l'Atelier de minuit with his lover Francis Leung, devoted to horrific writing.
