Sam Cyr

About

Gaspésie-born Sam Cyr broke out of the École nationale de l'humour in 2018 with his signature comic combo, at once sarcastic yet endearingly awkward. Ever-growing audiences were instantly won over. He has performed at festivals such as ZOOfest, ComédiHa, and the prestigious Juste Pour Rire/Just for Laughs. Québeckers will recognize him from TV shows Le Prochain Stand-Up, Roast Battle, On va se le dire, Sucré Salé and Bonsoir Bonsoir, or on Radio-Canada’s “Il restera toujours la culture” and “De l'huile sur le feu” (“just throw oil on the fire”). His breakout novel Lamentable (2021) was a critical and commercial success. Sam went on to win an Olivier Award in the Unscripted Comedy Podcast of the Year category for his podcast "Tout le monde s'haït" ("Everyone is hating on everyone"), which he co-hosts with Marylène Gendron. Stay tuned for their upcoming program "Séparés mais ensemble avec elle" in 2024.
