Denis-Martin Chabot

About

A native of Quebec City, Denis-Martin Chabot (il/lui) studied journalism at Carleton University in Ottawa. He worked as a journalist at Radio-Canada (radio, television, and web) for over 32 years. He is the author of several novels, including Rue Sainte-Catherine Est, métro Beaudry and Il y a longtemps que je t’aime, je ne t’oublierai jamais (winner of the 2017 Gay Novel Award, Hommage, Paris, for both titles), as well as several biographies. As an actor, he performed in La (rire) appropriation culturelle (a comedy show he also produced). He created the concept of the Grand effeuillage littéraire, which, as its name suggests, is a safe space where nudity is celebrated as a canvas for literary expression. He has performed at the Théâtre de l’Île in Gatineau, the Théâtre français d’Edmonton (TFE), and the Unithéâtre in Edmonton.
