DJ Hermano
About
DJ Hermano (he/him) is a Brazilian-born DJ and selector based in Montreal. As a vinyl collector, his passion for music has taken him across most of the continent, playing on the line-ups of major festivals, parties and clubs such as Mutek, Somos Festival, Honcho Campout and Cherry Beach.
He is the creator of Íntimas, a traveling queer party that combines sonic and visual experience in unconventional venues. Born out of a desire to create dialogue within the queer community and encourage the exchange of experiences in safe spaces, the project continues to expand its territory and explore themes of individual emancipation, self-expression and authenticity.
Rooted in disco and body music, his mixing style cannot be reduced to a single genre. Still shaped by his Brazilian roots, he moves fluidly between edits from the 80s and 90s and contemporary electronic sounds. Based in Montreal, he has become an active presence in the city's queer underground.
