Epicenter Revolutions

Epicenter Revolutions responds to rising anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment and legislation by using durational performance art to explore and affirm gender-diverse identities. Our collective practice, rooted in Performance as Research, values lived experience as artistic knowledge—knowledge that must be felt, sensed, and shared. Through collaborative performance and reflection, we transform personal insights into communal understanding, bridging the gap between the internal and the political. In contrast to the typical view of performance art as solitary, our work centers community and interdependence, offering an embodied resistance to the erasure of trans and non-binary lives. We challenge dominant narratives that seek to define or disprove gender diversity by foregrounding subjectivity and emotional perception as valid modes of inquiry. At Epicenter, performance is both method and message—a way of being, knowing, and resisting together.
