Opéra Queens presents new and reinvented classical vocal music in FULL COLOUR: majority QTBIPOC+ in drag, gender-bent, and queerified - sung live! OQ has been seen coast to coast across Québec, Canada, and in the UK from Edinburgh Fringe to Pacific Opera Victoria and Halifax Pride.
OQ’s highly popular “Drama Queens” program (Les reines du drame) combines great figures of history, myth, and legend from Cleopatra to the Queen of the Night, Dido, Carmen, Samson & Delilah, and many more. Intimate yet grand, powerful yet touching. We present our 3 founding Montréal members: drag diva Tanya Smania (she/them), Zwischenfach and composer Jay Marchand Knight (any pronouns), and countertenor Rain Saran Senavinin (he/him).
