Rain Saran Senavinin
About
Thai Countertenor Rain Saran Senavinin (he/him) graduated from McGill University with a M.Mus in Early Music. An Opéra Queens founding artist, Rain’s OQ repertoire includes the title roles of Purcell’s Dido and Handel’s Nerone as well as Sesto and Tchaikovsky’s Triquet and the Chez Pauline Viardot Recital. Rain appears in both of OQ’s feature films Drama Queens and Latin Night.
Rain has performed internationally in Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and England for companies including Opera Siam, Grand Opera Thailand, NUNi, and Asia / America New Music Institute. He has also performed for literal royalty: HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand, HRH Princess Soamsavali of Thailand, and HRH Princess Marie-Esmeralda of Belgium.
Rain was Gustav Mahler Conducting Competition Winner in Asia Europe New Music Festival, semi-finalist in Premiere Opera Foundation International Vocal Competition, and was granted a scholarship for Bovicelli course on 16th-17th century diminution from Musikakademie Schloss Weißenbrunn.
