Rosie Bourgeoisie
About
A multidisciplinary artist active for over a decade in the Montreal underground scene, Rosie Bourgeoisie (they/them) has paved the way for the queer nightlife performing arts community. An Indigenous (mixed) Maori artist and outspoken queer activist, they center their practice on acknowledging intersecting oppressions and reclaiming the stage for fat bodies, diverse abilities, and gender plurality.
As the founder of Them Fatale; a queer cabaret collective dedicated to trans and non-binary live performance artists; they handle the concept, artistic direction, production, and hosting of the project. The collective has been featured in the Montreal Pride programming since 2023, boasting more than 12 shows in two and a half years.
An international performer and committed producer, they leverage their genderfuck identity to celebrate gender euphoria and provoke political reflection with love, glitter, and rage.
