Roller Derby Expo Game | Montréal Roller Derby

This expo game will showcase the two travel teams of the Montréal Roller Derby league, who will face off for about an hour. This is a great opportunity to watch a high-level game: the Sexpos and the New Skids on the Block are two top-ranking teams in the international roller derby federation's competitions. This game will open our weekend-long tournament, The Beast of the East.

Beyond the competition, this roller derby game is intended to be a true moment of encounter and thinking, where the public discovers a sport that values the diversity of bodies and identities, and contributes to deconstructing gender stereotypes. By showcasing inspiring role models, it offers young and old alike a tangible example of resilience, solidarity, and pride through sport.

The event is aimed at both the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and allies, for whom our sport represents a safe and rewarding space. Even without any knowledge of the rules and of the sport, the onlookers will be carried away by the athletic performances and endless camaraderie of our sport. This festive, fun, and spectacular event attracts families, friends, and groups of all generations. The event is suitable for all, and even the less knowledgeable will learn a lot from our “Ask me about derby” representatives who are available throughout the game to answer any questions.
