Sinstravaganza
Who decides what is sin?
Since colonizers arrived on Turtle Island, Indigenous art, cultural practices, and even our laughter has been called sinful. Sinstravaganza reframes, reclaims, and embraces that judgment.
We aim to deconstruct those imposed colonial values on Indigenous Truths and celebrate our so-called "sins".
Join us for performances that move from traditional Indigenous art forms into contemporary
ones, all while showing how our values can help escape colonial worldviews and make a true
virtue of sin.
Witness performers of all kinds interpret both the Seven Deadly Sins and the Seven Grandfather Teachings through their art.
What does Indigenous Wrath look like?
Is rest Slothful or is it Wisdom?
Can Envy lead to the kinds of competition that bring out the best in us?
Come find out!
If Pride is a sin, we're here to celebrate it with you. After all, our lifeways were never sinful to
begin with.
