Taking our desires in our own hands – the first erotic lesbian and gay movies | Perv View

In the 1970s and 1980s, the creation of the first erotic videos by and for the lesbian and gay communities was an activist act, allowing us to see our desires and sexualities differently from the dominant gaze.
Taking advantage of the recent restoration of Arthur J. Bressan Jr's films and the visit to Montreal of Nan Kinney, one of the founders of Fatale Media's videos, "Les Vues kinky" presents this double program of sexy videos, accompanied by presentations to contextualize this important archival work. We can see how, the early work of Fatale Media's videos already presents what will become key codes of feminist filmmaking, filming consent and including reflection from the actresses. Similarly, the films of Arthur. J Bressan both testify of the vitality of 1970s gay communities and reclaim our sexualities.
