About
Born of the Groupe d'action Trans de l'Université de Sherbrooke and established in 2020, TransEstrie is a community organization by and for trans, non-binary, and questioning (TNBQ) people.
TransEstrie provides direct support and counseling to TNBQ people and those around them, offering psychosocial support in their experiences related to their loved one's gender identity and in understanding the person's gender identity.
TransEstrie also raises awareness of the realities, rights, and issues of trans people among the general public, various sectors, and institutions, by offering training in the different sectors that work directly and indirectly with trans and non-binary people.
With values of pride, equity, sharing, and determination, TransEstrie's mission is to support, guide, and represent the members of its communities by promoting a trans-affirmative approach based on the self-definition of transness.
