Choeur Gai de Montréal (CGDM)

Male choral ensemble whose choristers are proudly and predominantly from the LGBTQ+ community in the metropolitan region.

About

A member of the Quebec Choral Alliance, the Chœur Gai de Montréal (CGDM) is a male choral ensemble whose choristers are proudly and predominantly from the LGBTQ+ community in the metropolitan region.

It offers its choristers, aged 25 to 77, a unique opportunity to belong to one of the few male choirs in Montreal. In addition to offering a framework conducive to the practice and promotion of choral singing, the choir encourages each member to develop his or her personal and artistic potential.

Under the artistic and musical direction of Julie Roy, the choir performs a pop repertoire in French and English, as well as offering eye-catching choreography.

Over the years, the choir has performed several times at the Mondial Choral de Laval, given hundreds of performances in the Village, taken part in the Fête Arc-en-ciel de Québec, and contributed unique numbers to the Just for Laughs Festival and the Montréal Complètement Cirque festival. The choir has also performed in Miami, Paris and Dublin at events such as Gala Choruses and Various Voices.
