Nicholas Bellefleur
About
Nicholas Bellefleur explores performance as a practice of liberation. Their work embodies the collective unconscious by celebrating the human experience, blending queer and neurodivergent perspectives. Bellefleur harmonizes various bodily, spiritual, and dreamlike logics, offering sensitive alternatives for being in the world.
Their choreographic anthology "A SAFE(R) SPACE" was presented at Tangente, Vue sur la Relève, and the Festival Quartiers Danses in Montreal (2019-2022). In 2024, Bellefleur will choreograph "LA NUIT NOUS APPARTIENT" for the Carrefour International de Théâtre in Quebec.
Collaborating with various artists, they embody the works of Andrea Peña at La Biennale di Venezia, Virginie Brunelle at Lugano Arte e Cultura, Dave St-Pierre at Fierté Montréal, Sébastien Provencher at the Festival TransAmériques, and Wynn Holmes at Espace GO, where they are an associate director.
