Brûlances

Queer festival from a feminist, decolonial, anti-capitalist, anti-racist, intergenerational and ecological perspective.

About

Brûlances is an annual queer festival entirely run by volunteers, from a feminist, decolonial, anti-capitalist, anti-racist, intergenerational and ecological perspective. The event follows on from Radical queer semaine (2009 to 2016), which sought to counterbalance mainstream, less inclusive spaces so that queer people, particularly the most marginalized, could discuss the issues that concern them. Brûlances aims to forge links between different generations and communities of queer activism, in a milieu where splits are numerous and the transmission of our histories is fraught with pitfalls. Through workshops, artistic events, screenings, and queer celebrations, we aim to deepen our collective knowledge, education, and politicization of our communities. Above all, we want to ignite sparks for future struggles, collective care, and stimulating new encounters.
