Samy Benammar

Samy Benammar (he/they) is an artist and film critic whose work explores issues rooted in his Algerian and working-class origins. His short films, distributed by Winnipeg Film Group and Vidéographe, have been screened in Canada and internationally. He is a member of the editorial boards of 24 Images and Panorama-cinéma and is pursuing a Ph.D. on colonial photography in Algeria.
