  • Card!

    No cash is accepted on the main site, the Olympic Park’s Esplanade or the Esplanade Tranquille.

  • Consent!

    Uncovered bodies are not an invitation to touch! Remember, always ask for consent. It’s essential.

  • Respect!

    The 2SLGBTQIA+ communities are diverse, and Pride is a place of celebration for ALL OF US.

  • Think ahead!

    Get your STM round-trip transportation ticket in advance. Everything will be smoother at the end of the night.

  • Stay hydrated!

    Bring your reusable bottle. We have water fountains in the Olympic Park's Esplanade and the Esplanade Tranquille.

  • Be generous!

    Our festival is free for everybody! Thanks in advance for supporting us with a donation via our TipTap stations.

  • Early bird!

    For everyone’s security, there will be checkpoints at the entrance of the Olympic Park's Esplanade and the Esplanade Tranquille. Get there early so you don’t miss anything and to get the chance to enjoy the food trucks, the bars, our partner’s activations, and the boutique!

  • It’s summertime!

    Check the weather! Wear sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. If it’s raining, bring your raincoat or a small umbrella.

How to get to the Fierté Montréal Festival sites.

    Our sites are well served by the Société de transport de Montréal (STM)’s public transportation network.

    Urban Hub 

    The Esplanade Tranquille, SAT, Club Soda, the Cinquième Salle, and the NFB’ Alanis-Obomsawin Hall are served by the Place-des-arts and Saint-Laurent stations (Green Line 1). The Place-des-Arts metro station is universally accessible with the help of elevators. Check the elevator service status before you travel to avoid any unpleasant surprises. The station is about a ten-minute metro ride from the Village. It is also possible to get there by bus, with several lines serving the station. Visit the STM website to plan a personalized itinerary. They are all located about ten minutes from the Village by metro.     Olympic Hub 

    The Olympic Park’s Esplanade, the main site of the Festival, is accessible by metro via the Pie-IX station on the Green line. The Pie-IX metro station is universally accessible with the help of elevators. Check the status of the elevator service before you travel to avoid any surprises. By bus, the SRB Pie-IX stops are just a few steps from the site. Check the STM website to plan a personalized itinerary.

    Village Hub 

    The Village is accessible by metro via the Berri-UQAM (Green 1, Yellow 4, and Orange 2 Lines), Beaudry, and Papineau (Green Line 1) stations. The Berri-UQÀM station is equipped with elevators on Line 1 - Green and Line 2 - Orange only. It is currently not possible to access Line 4 - Yellow with the help of elevators.

    The Pride Parade takes place on René-Lévesque Boulevard and is easily accessible by metro, via the Lucien-L'Allier and Bonaventure stations (Orange Line), as well as the Guy-Concordia, Peel, McGill, and Place-des-Arts (Green Line) stations.

  • Travelling by active transportation

    We encourage you to walk or cycle to our festival sites whenever possible. If you don’t have your own bike, you can use a BIXI.

    Urban Hub   

    The bike path on Maisonneuve Blvd takes you directly to Esplanade Tranquille. Bike racks (unsupervised) are available a few meters from the entrance, next to the Maison du développement durable. The same bike path will get you to the Cinquième Salle, Club Soda, SAT, and the NFB’s Alanis-Obomsawin Hall.    

    There are 2 BIXI stations nearby the Esplanade Tranquille, SAT and Club Soda:  

    • Corner St-Laurent and Ste-Catherine West  
    • Corner Evans and Clark  

    There 3 additional BIXI stations nearby Place des Arts:  

    • Corner Jeanne-Mance and Président-Kennedy  
    • Corner Jeanne-Mance and René-Lévesque West  
    • Corner Saint-Urbain and René-Lévesque West  

    Olympic Hub  

    The Olympic Park’s Esplanade is accessible via the bike paths on Rachel Street, Maisonneuve Park, Bennett Street, and de la Salle Street. Bike racks (unsupervised) are available a few meters from the entrance (4545 Pierre-de-Coubertin Avenue), as well as in the P2 parking lot and the 600 Sector of the Esplanade, at the corner of Sherbrooke and Pie-IX.    

    There are 3 BIXI stations nearby the Olympic Park’s Esplanade:  

    • Corner Pie-IX and Sherbrooke East  
    • Corner Jeanne-d’Arc and Sherbrooke East  
    • Corner Pierre-De-Coubertin and Desjardins  

    Village Hub  

    There are several BIXI stations in the Village, including:  

    • Corner Beaudry and Ste-Catherine East  
    • Corner Panet and Ste-Catherine East  
    • Corner Alexandre-DeSève and Ste-Catherine East  
    • Corner Montcalm and De Maisonneuve East  

    The Pride Parade takes place on René-Lévesque Boulevard and there are several BIXI stations along the way; from west to east:

  • Travelling by train

    Discover a country of differences. Travelling across Canada on a VIA Rail train, between major urban centers or in the regions, is to enjoy a peaceful and comfortable journey with impeccable service and an unbeatable view. Discover the diversity and openness of our beautiful country. 

    The Central Station is located at 895 de la Gauchetière West, in downtown Montreal. It’s served by the Bonaventure and McGill metro stations. VIA Rail trains serve all of Canada. 

    *Direct trains to New York City also leave from the Central Station (Amtrak).

  • Travelling by car

    Travelers can also take advantage of the Canadian highway system to get to Montréal.  

    Montréal is only a five-hour drive from Toronto or Boston and seven hours from New York. Montréal is only 47 km (29 mi) from the New York State border. The New York State Thruway (I-87) becomes Interstate 15; I-89 becomes Route 133 (two lanes at the border) and then joins Interstate 10 which leads to Montréal. From I-91 in Massachusetts, Highways 55 and 10 lead to Montréal. 

    Visitors from Western and Eastern Canada can reach Montréal via Highways 20 and 40.  

    In Québec, speed limits are expressed in kilometers (100 km/h is approximately 62 mph). Gasoline is sold by the liter (3 3/4 liters is equivalent to one US gallon).

  • Travelling by plane

    The Montréal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport is located 18 kilometers from downtown Montréal.

    You can take the Express Bus 747. It runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year between the Montréal Bus Station (Berri-UQAM metro station) and Montréal-Trudeau Airport on a route with nine stops per direction.  

    The 747 buses are equipped with luggage racks for passengers. Travel time is 45 to 60 minutes -depending on traffic. WI-FI service is available on most buses. 

    The fare is $11, payable upon boarding the bus in coins only, for the exact amount (no paper bills). 

    The following fares are also accepted on the 747 at no additional cost:

    • Weekly and Monthly, All modes A, at a regular or reduced fare.

  • When is the Fierté Montréal Festival?

    The Fierté Montréal Festival will take place from August 1 to 11. The Festival begins in the Urban Hub, more precisely at the Esplanade Tranquille, in the Quartier des spectacles, on August 1. The Club Soda and the SAT will host queer parties, the NFB a cinema program, and the Cinquième Salle, at Place des arts, will host Ciseaux, a festive documentary cabaret that revisits lesbian history. The Urban Hub takes over for the big shows on our main site: the Olympic Park’s Esplanade. They start on Thursday, August 8, and continue until Sunday, August 11 with the Méga T-Dance. The Community Days and the comedy show, Des Gags et des Paillettes will take place at the Village, at the heart of Montréal's 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. The Pride Parade will take place on August 11 on René-Lévesque Boulevard, in downtown Montréal.

  • Do I need to buy tickets to attend the shows?

    The shows taking place at the Esplanade Tranquille as well as the main site, the Olympic Park’s Esplanade, are all free!

    However, there are a few ticketed events taking place elsewhere during the festival. Get your tickets here.

  • Festival Code of Conduct

    To ensure the safety of event participants and to comply with regulations governing large-scale gatherings, Fierté Montréal has put in place a series of rules to be followed. Thank you in advance for your participation! 

    • Upon arrival, our reception and security staff will ask you to show the contents of your bags for verification purposes. There will also be metal detectors.  
    • Sales and solicitation are strictly forbidden on the Fierté Montréal Festival’s premises.  
    • Respect the experiences, opinions, and beliefs of others (unless they are racist, sexist, transphobic, ableist, etc.).  
    • Respects the physical and emotional limits of others. Touch others only when consent has been given initially and is maintained. 
    • Ask permission before taking someone’s photo.  
    • No offensive, degrading, threatening, aggressive or silencing comments or gestures will be tolerated, whether related to gender identity or expression, nationality, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender, disability, religion, size, age, or language. 
    • Fierté Montréal reserves the right to intervene with anyone who fails to comply with these instructions, or who is detrimental to the participants' sense of security. 
    • Be careful not to assume anyone's gender: ask for the pronouns used by the people you meet. 
    • Fierté Montréal and its partners will deploy awareness-raising activities and distribute safer-sex material. Don't hesitate to get informed! 
    • In case of physical discomfort, first-aid teams are at your disposal. Counseling personnel are also on hand to provide psychosocial support and help with consumption. 
    • If you don't feel safe and you're a victim of harassment or any other form of sexual violence, refer to a member of the team wearing the Commande un Angelot badge. No questions about the situation and no justification will be required.
  • Will there be bars and food available?

    Yes. The main site in the Olympic Park’s Esplanade has several food trucks with options for all tastes (vegan and vegetarian options available).

    Several bars will offer drinks (non-alcoholic too!). Do not miss the Bistro SAQ at the main site.

    The Esplanade Tranquille features bar services too. Close by, you’ll find plenty of options to eat.

  • Can I pay in cash?

    Cash is not accepted on the Esplanade Tranquille nor the main site, the Olympic Park’s Esplanade. You can only pay by card or contactless with your cell phone.

    Cash is accepted at Le National, Club Soda, SAT, Cinquième Salle and the NFB’s Alanis-Obomsawin Hall.

  • How do I get there?

    We strongly encourage you to use public transportation. It's quick and easy! 

    Metro: The Olympic Park's Esplanade, the main site of the festival, is accessible through the Pie-IX station (green line). This station is accessible to people with reduced mobility. From the Berri-UQAM, Beaudry, or Papineau stations, in the Village, you can take the metro directly to the Olympic Park -it takes 10 minutes! 

    Esplanade Tranquille is served by the Place-des-arts (universally accesible) and Saint-Laurent stations on the Green Line. It is also about ten minutes from the Village by metro. 

    Remember to buy your tickets in advance. Visit the STM’s website for more information. 

    Bus: Several bus lines stop nearby the Olympic Park’s Esplanade: 97, 139, and 439.  

    The Esplanade Tranquille, the Cinquièeme Salle, SAT, Club Soda, and the NFB’ Alanis-Obomsawin Hall are accessible via several bus lines, like 55, 129 or 363. Check out the STM’s website for more information. 

    Bike: The main site is accessible via the bike paths on Rachel Street, Maisonneuve Park, Bennett Street, and de la Salle Street. Bike racks (unsupervised) are available a few meters from the entrance (4545 Pierre-de-Coubertin Avenue), as well as in the P2 parking lot. An attended space in the 600 Sector of the Esplanade, at the corner of Sherbrooke and Pie-IX, will also be available. 

    The bike path on Maisonneuve Blvd takes you directly to Esplanade Tranquille. Bike racks (unsupervised) are available a few meters from the entrance, next to the Maison du développement durable. The same bike path will get you to the Cinquième Salle, Club Soda, SAT, and the NFB’s Alanis-Obomsawin Hall. 

    Car: The Olympic Park’s Esplanade has underground parking available, the P4 ($), located at 4200, Sherbrooke Street. 

    Our advice is to not use your car to get to the Urban Hub! Use public transportation. It’s easier, faster, and more eco-friendly! 

  • Are children allowed?

    Yes! Everyone is welcome!

  • Is the Festival accessible to people with disabilities?

    Yes, both the Esplanade Tranquille and the main site, the Olympic Park’s Esplanade, are accessible. Visit this page dedicated to accessibility to learn more about the measures put in place at these sites and all other venues, as well as the Pride Parade route.

  • What can I bring with me to the Esplanade Tranquille and the Olympic Park’s Esplanade?

  • Can I bring and consume cannabis on-site? (Esplanade Tranquille & Olympic Park’s Esplanade)

    According to the Law, it’s allowed to have cannabis with you, but it’s forbidden to smoke on our sites (both cannabis and/or tobacco).

  • What are the security measures?

    Upon arrival at the Festival premises, our reception and security staff will ask you to show the contents of your bags for verification purposes and there will be metal detection doors.

    Also, all sales and/or solicitations are strictly forbidden on the Fierté Montréal Festival's sites. 

    Any person acting inappropriately or dangerously will be expelled from the sites. 

    We count on your collaboration to make your visit a pleasant and safe experience for all. 

  • What happens in case of rain?

    The Fierté Montréal Festival shows on the main site, the Olympic Park's Esplanade, as well as on the Esplanade Tranquille, will take place rain or shine. In case of extremely bad weather, the event may be interrupted or canceled.

  • What do I do if I lose something on the site?

    If you have lost something at the main site, the Olympic Park’s Esplanade, go to the Information Kiosk next to the VIQ space to ask about it.

    If you lost an item elsewhere or during the last day of the Festival, write to us at info@fiertemontreal.com for information.

    Please note that after 15 days, unclaimed items will be donated to charity.
