Make-up and the camera for self-exploration | Aide aux trans du Québec
Makeup is a powerful tool that can cause gender euphoria, and that's what we want people in our communities to experience.
The activity will begin with a workshop on teaching different make-up techniques that can help people of the plurality of genders to affirm their gender identity and expression with greater ease, as well as to reduce their dysphoria. The workshop, in the form of a panel, will be co-hosted by two makeup artists who will present feminizing and masculinizing facial makeup techniques on two volunteer models. Participants are invited to bring their own make-up kit and experiment simultaneously with the techniques taught, if desired.
Finally, aiming to offer people of the plurality of genders the unique opportunity to tame their image on camera in a benevolent setting, participants will be able to take part in a short individual “photobooth” style photo session with a photographer from our communities with extensive experience working with people of the plurality of genders.
Stay tuned! The names of the guest artists will be revealed on the ATQ's social networks.
The activity was developed with the aim of offering an experience focused on well-being and self-exploration, as well as allowing a moment of exchange and sharing with people in our communities. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be offered and door prizes will be drawn.
