Roundtable on experiences and prejudices in sport
Presented by
LGBTQIA+ people can face unique challenges in the sports ecosystem. This roundtable, organized in collaboration with the European Union Delegation, will explore the social and symbolic barriers that often impede the journeys of people from LGBTQIA+ communities.
Participants will engage in interactive discussions and benefit from informative presentations by panelists to foster a deeper understanding of the unique challenges community members face in sport.
This format aims to facilitate an open exchange of ideas and solutions better to understand the experiences and journeys of LGBTQIA+ athletes. The round table is interpreted in Langue des Signes Québécoise (LSQ).

-Ouissem Belgacem, French-Tunisian footballer, writer, singer, and head of the company OnTrack Sport, which helps high-level athletes in their post-career and Grand Marshall of the Fierté Montréal Festival;
-Katia Aubin, member of the board of directors of Hockey Québec and leader of the Collectif Pivot;
-Lou St-Pierre, principal researcher at the Research Laboratory for the Progression of Women+ in Sports in Quebec (Lab PROFEMS);
-Benoit Grenier, member of the board of directors of the A contre Courant club, an inclusive aquatic club based in Montréal, open to all without discrimination.
