Élyse Bourbeau (Alliance des professeures et professeurs de Montréal), Corine Gagnon-Tremblay (Comité confédéral LGBT+ CSN), Éric Kirouac (Comité confédéral LGBT+ CSN), Bertrand Guibord (Comité LGBT+ du Conseil central du Montréal métropolitain — CSN)
Host: Donald Picotte (Comité LGBT+ du Conseil central du Montréal métropolitain — CSN)
For many decades, Québécois and Canadian unions have worked for the recognition and advancement of LGBT+ people’s rights. To spread awareness on their role in the LGBT+ struggle, CSN published an updated version of the text Labour Pride last year, written by Prabha Khosla. The text explores the efforts led by Canadian unions since the 1970s. The presentation “Labour Pride: Past, Present and Future. What Our Unions Have Done for Us” will be an opportunity to present the text and discuss the projects led by Québécois unions throughout the years. We will also turn to the future and consider the forecasted issues in the struggle for LGBT+ people’s rights in the workplace and in society at large.
