Fierté Montréal and the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma: Together to Celebrate Diversity on Screen

Fierté Montréal is thrilled to renew its collaboration with the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma (FNC) for a second consecutive year, highlighting the work of 2SLGBTQIA+ filmmakers. As part of this partnership, Fierté Montréal will award the Prix Fierté Montréal to the best 2SLGBTQIA+ feature film from an exceptional selection of works, further solidifying our commitment to promoting diversity and queer representation in the film industry.

This year, the films eligible for the Prix Fierté Montréal are diverse and reflect the richness of artistic perspectives from 2SLGBTQIA+ communities:

  • I'M NOT EVERYTHING I WANT TO BE
    Directed by Klára Tasovská | Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria
    An intimate visual portrait of Libuše Jarcovjáková, a prominent photographer of the Czechoslovak counter-culture.

The Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, with over 50 years of history, is a premier platform in Canada for national and international auteur cinema. It showcases new perspectives through original programming, celebrating emerging creators and technological innovation.

By partnering with the FNC, Fierté Montréal reaffirms its commitment to supporting inclusive and diverse stories while promoting the visibility of 2SLGBTQIA+ artists in the global film industry.
