On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming Fierté Montréal members for a lively and enriching evening of consultation and networking at MEM - Centre des mémoires montréalaises. With 132 members - 74 community members, 35 allied members, 19 committed members and 4 resources - the meeting was an opportunity to strengthen our ties and refine our program of demands.
A committed consultation
The first part of the evening was dedicated to listening and discussing Fierté Montréal's demands. Our objectives were clear: to hear from our members on the issues that concern them, to improve our program of demands, and to make our community aware of the various struggles we are collectively waging. Thanks to enriching discussions and shared reflections, we were able to identify concrete courses of action that will guide our future commitments. The consultation workshop was co-hosted by the Conseil québécois LGBT, the benchmark for 2SLGBTQIA+ advocacy in Quebec.
Dynamic networking with Barbada
After the consultation session, it was time to network! In a friendly and dynamic atmosphere, participants had the opportunity to meet in speed-meeting mode, encouraging exchanges and the creation of new connections. The event was hosted by the fabulous Barbada de Barbades, who brought energy and good humor to this part of the evening.
Our warmest thank you to all those present for their commitment and active participation. These meetings are essential to enriching the democratic life of Fierté Montréal and fostering encounters with organizations from all sectors of society, all united for the recognition and inclusion of 2SLGBTQIA+ people.
Thanks also to MEM - Centre des mémoires montréalaises for their exceptional welcome, to Olive Orange for their impeccable catering service and to iLSQ for their superb interpreting service in Langue des signes québécoise.
